How often do you use your CB?

OK, had a friend that had a CB set up that he was getting rid of. Got it at a steal. Now before I start running wire and mounting antennas, Am I really gonna use this thing. I am an occasional off roader. My son and I have been to Uwharrie, NC and are planning trips to some other trail areas. More frequently we ride small local areas. Will I find the CB useful? I may mount some sort of quick connect, so that I can remove the radio itself when not trail riding.

Well I am just an occasional off-roader myself. Only had my Jeep for a year and only been on 3 group rides. I only find mine useful on group rides, where we all are on the same channel and are able to communicate. I take mine even when I am alone, but have yet to need it for those occasions. Since you have it, I would install it.

i use mine to tune in when traffic arises on the freeway...which is very helpful. Other than that, i use it most when i caravan with other jeepers. the PA function i have, however, i use it on a daily basis.

You'll use a CB a lot everytime you go offroading, CB gets used a lot then. Without one, you'll miss out on a lot of fun talk & useful information about what is going on. I never use mine except when I'm offroading, not even the truckers use them as much as they used to.
