I got a head unit, now what?

Iíve just purchased a JVC KW-NT30HD HD Radio for my 2008 JK. Now what do I need?

JVC Mobile Entertainment \ AV Navigation System - KW-NT30HD \ Specifications

Did I do good? Do I need more power? Should I replace the stock speakers? I tried researcing this stuff. It's a different language to me. I happened into Best Buy today and this unit was $250 off. I think it has what I want. Certainly it's a good start.

I'm waiting on a wire harness and installation kit. I should ahve that in a couple days.

One suggestion. Call crutchfield. They can offer good suggestions for your vehicle and sound needs and can even build a shopping cart for you.

^they try very hard to push some stuff out the door and may not be what you were looking for.

the unit you got isnt that bad, has room to expand your system. you really need to ditch the factory speakers.

what were you looking to spend on speakers?

I am not really looking to entertain the neighborhood, just want a decent sound is all. I wonder if an amp should be considered. I was looking at the installation papers last night and I didn't see where there are more than 4 hook ups for speakers, 2 front and 2 rear. How do the little tweeters get connected on the dash? Like I said guys, this is above my pay grade.

OK, the wire connector (XSVI-6622-NAV) came in today along with the installation brackets and that has answered my dumb question about how the speaker get hooked up.

I've looked the wire set over a little bit and read the little bit of directions it has and there is a note about the ASWC is sold seperately. I will be doing some searching around but for now I have this question: What is an ASWC?

It's an adapter that alows the steering wheel controls to work. Not needed. I don't have steering wheel controls.

I'm off for the rest of the year. The new unit goes in tomorrow.
I think I'm gonna need a die grinder for this.
