I hate Itunes..please help

OK here is the deal, I have an IPOD Touch, so when I converted..I loaded all my CD's on to Itunes.

Here is my issue...
My wife and kids have regular MP3 players and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create MP3 files for them to load up their players.

Anyone know a work around for this issue?

Thanks

I had too many problems with itunes and found a better program to use, i thought you had to use apple software with it, but others work too.

heres what i use: Winamp

it will convert the files to mp3/wma or whatever you need automatically, or later at a push of a button, and ive had no problems with it.

itunes gets really annoying with all the problems it has and all the stupid rules (like not being able to take music off your ipod and put it on your computer, what happens if you get a new computer?)

Audio Grabber Software - Grab Audio CD to MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG Vorbis

In a nut shell, you install the free audio grabber program, stick a CD in the drive, tell audio grabber to rip the disc to MP3 and go have a cup of coffee, beer, etc.
Come back 20 min later and do another one. Audio grabber does batch conversions.
Sometimes I do my own but many times I just go to piratebay or one of the other torrent sites and pull it down from there from someone else who has done it.

Windows Media Player does all this too. Itunes is a pain in the butt. It either works perfect, or you really got to mess with it to work right. Its the whole MAC/PC compatibility problem... Either find a different program that you like, or do some google searches and get Itunes to work right.

You can go to EDIT in ITunes and select PREFERENCES, ADVANCED, IMPORT and then change your encoder to mp3 format. That way you get your files loaded as mp3 which makes swapping easier. You can also burn your ITunes to a cd if you don't have the original and re-import as a mp3. Supposedly there is a way to use Windows Media Player by choosing "use mass media device" and up load from your IPod encoding to mp3 as you load. I am not that techno-savvy yet. Need a teenager to explain the intracacies of that one

ive tried windows media play and a few file converters, but winamp does all the good stuff with none of the hassle, and it has a lot of cool stuff added on.

(i guess im a spokes person for them now)

I was just offering solutions that would work with what he currently was using. Now if he wants to add another 13 mb program that has a larger footprint that's his choice

And i was just offering solutions based on my experience with those solutions, and if your worried about taking up 13mb of space on your computer, you need a new computer.

If he was just using his ipod and one computer fine. Interacting with multiples and not all using same software just makes for a big headache
