Question Infinity system, worth it?

thread title.

looking into buying my first Jeep, either a 2012 Sport S or a slighty used JK,at the moment i'm just trying to mess around with options and figure out which would be the best way to go. i'm sort of an audiophile so i listen to music all the time. i was just wondering, is the infinity system worth the $400? it sounds like a pretty good deal since it obviously includes install rather than getting it done aftermarket. but if it isn't going to make much of a difference then i may just pass on it.

another question, does bluetooth music streaming come standard or is it an option?

this whole process is new to me so i just kind of wanted to get some advice from Jeep owners, hopefully i'll have a better idea after visiting the dealer on tuesday.

If you are an audiophile you are not going to like the Infinity sound. I just upgraded my speakers and added a second subwoofer. For what it's worth, I think it is a good deal since it comes with the amp and the sub enclosure. You should go for it but plan on swapping the speakers for something more efficient keeping a 2 ohms load. Maybe add a second amp after the stock amp for a better subwoofer.

I got the infinity system on my 12. Already changed out dash and roll bar speakers with polks. Bluetooth works great but if your upgrading won't be a problem to get new deck with it. If your getting your jk with the 430 or 720 nav great but if not I'd just get the basic low end stereo n upgrade all to ur liking.

Sounds good. I get a sick discount on Polk through best buy anyway. Thanks!

The infinity rear sub has no bass. It comes with the Rubicon, but I would never have ordered it. It's ok but not great.

The 7 speaker Inifinity system on my 2012 Sahara was at best average. I actually wanted my build with the cheapest stereo as I knew I was going to replace everything start to finish.

However I do like the 8" molded rear sub area and dash tweeter pods. Made my install that much easier and cleaner.

Now i feel like the only one who is going to not mess with it lol honostly its not some crazy system it sounds fine it has decent bass its loud enough

if you are looking for a bigger system or something highquality dont bother with getting it. That being said i also have a hard top so i cannot speak to wind noise to how well the infinity system does. Get polk there fantastic setups (i used to do car audio install for circuit city and sales ) polk is great setup far better then your stock infinity system

I have no problems with mine either and have NO desire to change anything. I will upgrade the speakers in maybe 2-3 years. Other than that, I think the system is great. And I love the hard drive to save music on.

The system in my opinion sounds fine, especially for an open top and the wind rushing around you. Although, it lacks a huge amount of bass and sounds kind of weak at lower volumes, but once you turn it up it sounds great. I have no complaints on the sound once I turn it up loud.

Exactly!!! Below 20 = sounds like distorted shit. BUT 21+ and it sounds great! My "sweet spot" is 28.

Im also getting a wrangler in about a week. Im getting the sport s. I was back at the dealer yesterday, and checked the system myself... In my opinion its great as is so i guess its up too you if you want to change it. Make sure it includes install and also i think the bluwtooth comes with one of the car packages.

Well the 7-speaker Infinity with the base radio system sounded better than what came stock on my 2010 Ford Escape. But once you put aftermarkets and power in the Jeep set-up, you would be amazed at the difference.
