Installed aftermarket Stereo. Turns on, but no sound!

Hi everyone,

I'm really hoping someone here can help me. I recently installed a Power Acoustik PTID-8310NRB unit on my 2006 Wrangler TJ. It was my first stereo install and I was excited when I actually got the thing to turn on! My hopes were quickly crushed when I realized no sound was coming out of the speakers. I am 99% sure I hooked up all of the wires together, so I am not sure what could be causing this problem. Any help is appreciated. Also, if you're in North Jersey and willing to help me figure it out, that'd be awesome!

Either the wires are wrong or the unit is no good.

I had the same problem . It was an issue with a blue wire if I recall . I assumed blue and blue with white stripe were supposed to be hooked up but I was wrong I'd make sure about the wiring . Hopefully the stereo isn't bad. I would doubt it if it turns on

Well, I tried everything and it didn't work. So, I ended up taking it to a car audio guy who fiddled around with it and determined it was busted. Now I have to deal with filing a claim and all that nonsense...plus I have no music in my ride!

your close to a cross over year w/ jeeps radio harnesses... if it's the standard harness you probably have a factory amplified system and the blue / white stripe needs to be hooked up to turn on stock amps. or like stated above could be a bad radio.

if it;s the newer style harness it's not normal $13 ot would be aboue $130. and thats a whole other can of worms. basically it' like a data bus system. and you cant use a standard harness even if it plugs in.

now looking a couple things up on bestkkits.com shows for a 2006 should be a standard harness..so either bad radio or need to fire up factory amps (probably stock infinity system)

hope that helps some
