JKU '13 Kicker, Polk, JL Stock HU

I currently have a 2013 10A JKU with the Alpine set up, 730n HU, and sub in the back.

I know everyone is going to say change the HU. But I WANT to keep the stock look and make everything look stealth. NOT looking to go after market with the HU. I also want to use the stock sub box that the JKU comes with.

I bought and not installed yet (waiting for everything)....
Polk Audio DB651s - for sound bar
Polk Audio DB6501- for front
JL audio 700/5 - amp
Under seat mounting plate provided by Member JeepedJeep

Things I need help with.

LOC or PAC? What provides better sound quality? People have said that you lose EQ do to it being done with the stock amp. What if I were to connect the LOC down stock amp instead of HU?

Also, has anyone used a Kicker 40CWRT82 ? Its a shallow mount sub that should fit into the stock box fine. Its rated for a 0.2 - 1.25 Cu. ft sealed box. The stock box is "0.3cu. ft" according to sources.

CompRT | KICKER

I am going to Dynamat everything and rewire everything with quality cables. Please help me out with your opinion. Except for those that have to say change HU first.

Running an expensive aftermarket set up with the crappy EQ in the stock HUs seems utterly illogical to me, but you said you didn't want to hear from anyone who was going to tell you to change the HU so I didn't bother.

I understand your point.... But let me explain it differently.

I am a collage student studying programing, so don't have much $$ to blow on a HU when I already have a 730n.

Maybe in a year when I am comfortable enough to afford a Quality HU with everything that the 730n offers, I will....

But as of now I have in my possession the JL 700/5 amp and polk audio speakers.... Which the amp came from a past vehicle so I saved some money there.

So my question is what is the best possible out come i can achieve with what i have.

LOC or PAC?

Also, has anyone used the Kicker 40CWRT82?

Please help me out guys. I know there are many people on here that have Installed quality systems on factory HU...

Thank you!

OK, so I think I understand your question. I presume you're referring to the PAC amplifier harness, in which case I'm inclined based upon what I have read to recommend using LOCs downstream of the factory amp. They're cheaper and they'll allow you to use the factory head unit's EQ capabilities, crappy though they are. The downside is that you'll have more wiring and multiple LOCs, but I think sound quality will be better than using the PAC interface which looks like a wholly unsatisfactory way to go, and expensive to boot.

Be aware that I have used neither LOCs nor the PAC amp interface, so I'm talking theoretically here. I know a bunch of people on here have used LOCs and are happy with them.

Also, your 730n is worth a very handsome amount of money secondhand - more than enough to buy a massively superior aftermarket HU. It's worth thinking about, because there isn't a single ICE option offered by Jeep that is even remotely good.

Woansleftpeg is correct, sell the 730 and buy a good head unit.

The only way to come close to a good sounding system with an oem headunit is to use a summing device after you factory amp. Something like a JL Cleansweep, Bit10, or something similar. All of which will cost more than a new head unit (which would essentially be free if you sold the 730).

You could connect LOCs after the factory amp but you will only be adding power to a dreary sounding head unit that puts some very strange EQ into your system. Your fronts will have no life, your back speakers will have limited output and rattle like hell, and your sub will have no thump. Dumb.
