KS 650 speakers Kicker

I have a 2010 jk unlimited. Looking at these speakers. Anyone have them. Are they a good fit or do you have to cut/mod anything. What is needed. Speaker bracker/connectors?

I know next to nothing about speakers. I just want an inexpensive replacement for factory (base) speakers. Something I can turn up with the top off and hear semi clear. What Does coaxials mean. Does that mean I have to run different speaker wire?

I want the simplest install. Not a lot of mods. like cutting stuff.

Also, What size and depth for the sound bar and front in dash? I am getting 6.5 6 3/4 Are they all considered 6.5?

Any help

Thanks.

Simply put, coaxials have that little tweeter in the center. I got those about a month ago to put in the overhead soundbar. They are good. They are not the best. I did have to make a modification, as they were too small. I thought 6 1/2 was the soundbar's frame size. If you are looking for some hard pounding speakers look somewhere else. I just wanted something with a little more clarity, which is what this speaker does very well.

No special wiring was needed. The soundbar had a special connection at the speaker that I just cut off. I then butt-spliced the connection that comes with the Kicker speakers on the end of the wire I just cut. I didn't want to get too involved with the speaker, so I did an easy mod. I just connected the speaker to the old speaker cover. If you want to show off the speaker with that nice grill that comes with it, you might have to spend a little extra on a bracket. Like I said, I just wanted them in. When I upgrade the fronts, I will go back and fix it up better.

Sound just what I want to do. I want to use the old speaker covers. Better protection then the kicker ones. Looks good in the sound bar also.

What was the mod you had to make? New screw holes? Self taping screws?

Don't want to spend a bunch.

Thanks for the reply

when looking at speakers try to find a set with a sensitivity rating of over 90dB, and around 25-30 watt rms.

Sandwiched the speaker between the cutout, and the old grille cover with machine screws. In other words I mounted it to the griller cover by drilling a small hole through the cover. I then ran a screw through the cover and mounting bracket of the speaker. I tightened that down with a nut, and mounted the griller back into place. I'll take a picture tomorrow. It's not the most beautiful thing, but not one person has noticed (only when I point it out to them).
