lockpick mic won't enable - need solution

I have 08 Wrangler with nav Mygig. I installed lockpic with mic. I have updated firmware to 2.045. The mic worked during testing, but won't work now that is installed.

The soft key to enable in Engineering menu is dead. It is there but it won't light up or respond to touch.

The unit says VR is ready, and I get the cue screens and voice prompts in both command and uconnect. But when I answer it does not respond - as if it cannot hear.

Lockpick told me to update software, I did. Still cannot enable mic. Lockpick says they have no answer.

I am told dealer can enable with Starscan - but probably won't if I have the lockpick installed or even tell them that is what I want. Any ideas?

Thanks for the link, I will try that too, but it now seems more likely that the issue somehow resides in the lockpick itself.

However, to anyone with a suggestion, I can clarify the problem a bit more. When I remove lockpick and reattach factory harness, I can enable VR in the engineer menu.

But, as soon as I reattach lockpick, the setting changes to a disabled position and will not respond to touch comand. So , in effect, lockpick disables the mic and also kills the key.

The lockpick people say that cannot happen, as if I was making it up because I have some much fun with this mess.

Again, please post any ideas.

PS: as an aside, the harness connections are a tiny bit too large/fat, making connections almost impossible to snap together or pull apart.
