MiGIG: losing left side audio?

Have a new Jeep with MiGIG. When using the radio channels - AM/FM & Sat - I frequently lose the left side audio- ALWAYS the left side. At first I thought it was general multipath distortion - I live in CHicago area - but it happens under open skies also. Sometimes there seems to be a correlation with bumps/movements like a loose connection, but sometimes it occurs on very smooth, open highway. I have less than a thousand miles and it has happened since driving away from the dealer. I don't know if this happens with CD audio - my wife has put most of the miles on and I have not tested it yet. Obviously CD problem would indicate the amp not the radio - and I will check. Other than a lose connection - or bad radio - the only other idea I have is that the antenna is bent slightly by bracket after dealer installed windshield driving lights. Anyone else have this problem?

Do you have a navigation system?

I thought my left front speaker blew too then, techie brilliant genius that I am (still can't program a VCR) realized the navigation system voice shuts off the left speaker when she talks. I then discovered that I didn't have her turned up loud enough so it seemed like the speaker was going out, it was just the crazy navigation woman interrupting to give directions. I also realized if you crank the tunes, no matter how loud the navigation system is turned on, you can't hear her very well when she butts in.

I suppose if I just sat down and read the manual I'd be better off but I haven't had time for it and I can do the basics and download my favorite tunes so for now that will have to do.

Thanks for the response and you are exactly correct. It seems my wife had gone into the menu and turned the volume on the traffic reports all the way down - and could not find her way back (there are at least 2 difference prompt menu locations) to turn it back up. She did not tell me this till yesterday. In any case your diagnosis was right on - all that was happening was that the prompts were breaking in to the music but I could not hear them. It seemed new to me because it only happens if you are having the navigator give you a route. I was testing it out driving to work and got all these interruptions. I also just downloaded a CD to memory, only to discover it only plays things in alphabetic order. Further reading in forums indicate I need the new MYGIG software so it will play them in the order on the CD. Since I just got it two weeks ago, you would have thought the dealer would update it before giving it to me. Now if I can just figure out what the rattle in my drivers side dash is, I will stop feeling like an idiot. Thanks again.

Hey, that explains why my CD's play in goofy order, so thanks right back at ya.
Just wait, you'll find how outdated the navigation system is (grrrrrr) I am only an hour west of Chicago, damn if a good portion of roads do not show up. I didn't opt to buy the nav. system but it was already on and I wanted silver else I wouldn't have gotten it.
It was alot of dough to be so outdated so I don't recommend buying it intentionally.
I could have bought an ipod and a garmin and been way better off.

I am not sure about how to upgrade it. I'm gonna make a call in the next couple days to my salesperson because I totally am with you there, the nav system stinks. Sad that a 200 dollar garmin is far better. Hubby doesn't even put his garmin in the windshield, fits perfect and works just fine in the cup holder.
