Mystery Button, Have you seen it before?

I just picked up this used Corolla as a commuter since I'm starting a 125-mile daily round trip commute next week...

So I noticed this odd little aftermarket switch on the dash:

I'm trying to figure out how it operates, what it is exactly, etc.

I know that with the key out of the car, I can click it (it's a push-in-lock, push-out-lock style switch) and nothing happens. doing the same with the key in ACC causes it to light up. If I do it a couple of times (I don't know the pattern yet) the horn honks once and the switch starts flashing. After flashing for a few seconds the horn starts honking repeatedly in an alarm state until I press the button again.

I'm confused. Nobody's going to want to steal this thing so I don't mind just not touching it, but I'm still curious. Anyone seen it before?

Maybe push it in after you take the key out, lock the doors to arm the alarm? Or passenger eject button?

Thank a cop in honor of Michael Frey. Thank a veteran for your freedom. God bless the troops. Never forget.

I'm thinking that it's an aftermarket alarm, and that's made to scare off a would be thief
Do I look like a cat to you boy? Am I jumpin' around all nimbly bimbly from tree to tree? Am I drinking milk from a saucer? DO YOU SEE ME EATING MICE?

It's either a rocket launcher or invisibility button. I have both mods on my rig.

I think it either activates the photon torpedos or the cloaking device.

obviously you got a hold of the extremely rare crouching tiger hidden dragon corolla only about 12 were made, when the key is in the run position and you press it it will emit flames from all around the car deterring muggers, thieves, etc...
