Need opinions on a console design

Do you guys and gals like this one:

or this one, which would have an external speaker at the rear of the console:

Send one on out and I'll test it for you. J/K I like the speaker grill but I was thinking along the same line. When I put my control head in the front, I was going to put the speaker in an enclosed grill in the back section. Open in the middle section for switches and stuff.

The only difference being the location of the speaker right? If so, I'd say the first one.

Since I run one, a Geeps Overhead Console. I would just go with the holes like the first one. Since the cb mounted not far from your head and the speaker points down I have no problem hearing my PC68Elite at all.

Yes he does.
I have one and I am extremely pleased with how it turned out.

The only thing I wish I would have done different was get some better pics of it before the hard top went on.
Because these few pics I have dont do the console justice. Its MUCH better looking in person

I had Geeps make mine angled in the back. Come summertime I will be mounting switches (Carlings from Geeps) back there.

switches, fuses, external speakers, map lights, overhead lights, etc.

on the short consoles, the rear area is an option.

This one is for a Jeep with a front sports cage.

I have a few additional pictures of the console here:

http://www.otrattw.com/Sneak.htm

I will be taking better shots of it as soon as I finish it.

The console Scoob was showing was a long version. He has the prototype for that design in his Jeep
