new backup light project

Hey guys! Have been looking into a backup light for my rig. Let me tell you what my idea is and see if you can help me out. So I am thinking of adding this http://www.amazon.com/Hella-Rubber-H...1986674&sr=1-5 kind of light since they are cheap. I want to see if I can either make a mount or use one of those cb antenna mounts that go behind the brake light and put the light there. I don't want it on my tire carrier because then I would have to deal with really long wires attached to it and it would be a pain every time I opened it. I'm picky though and was looking at the IPF back up light IPF 8161 - IPF Backup Light - Quadratec and really want it to run on a switch like that one where in one position it turns on when I put it into reverse, another is off, and then the other is just straight on when I want it. I don't like the way that switch looks though and want to get this OTRATTW .If you scroll down to the bottom, I think that is the one that will work. Can anybody help me out and see if this will even be possible? Thank you so much!

I got a couple of aux lites from JCWhitney and mounted them to my MBRP rack

They aren't backup lights because I have them wired thru my sw relay panel, so I turn them on when I want to !!

If those are bright enough, they'd be great at discouraging tailgaters at night!!

Holy crap...that's a good idea! lol

Just don't kick the lights on AND brake check em or you're sure to get rear-ended due to the fact that they'll be seeing spots instead of your brake lights...

Edit: On a similar note... another interesting deterrent against tailgaters... what about installing a small camera flash somewhere on the back about eye level. It'll blind them quickly and it'll leave them trying to figure out what just happened (ie did they just see lightning right in front of them) as compared to a couple bright off-road lights blinding them and leaving them quite furious.

That is one of my reasons for them actually. But more for friends who think they are funny getting right on my a** at night.

Between the time I posted this and now, I found a hardtop that I am going to buy, so this project might have to wait a while, but I would still like your suggestions.

Since I've got the jeep in Nevada, I don't drive too much on the HIWY at night and when I do, these Nevadans are pretty polite and cordial on the freeway (NorNv) !!

Now California--"look-out", it's a jungle out there
