Well, I just got home with my new 2009 Jeep wrangler unlimited X 4x4 and I am already looking to upgrade my stereo system. ( I cant believe how cheap the current one sounds). I am not looking to spend an arm and a leg, and dont plan on putting a sub in the back. I basically just want great sound when I have the top down with a little thump ( AND the sound must be LOUD). I will be replacing the speakers in the front, and the speakers in the sound bar in the back, and also replacing the CD player stereo. I would like to have the aux port for my ipod ( or something that will play it ) also Bluetooth capabilities. What would yall reccomend??

Budget $250-$350

A good front end that will drive what you want is going to blow that budget and then you still have the speakers to do. You get what you pay for.

What if I raise my budget to say $450-$600 ?

please let me know what you find out, i have the same issues with mine. just an fyi do not get the stock sub that they sell from jeep i bought one today and found out that you have to buy an amp also they have to reprogram your computer module. also does any one know how hard it is to install a new deck, amp, and sub?

i have installed a few stereo systems, i havent done it on a new jeep, but i wouldnt think things are much different. its relatively simple and only took me a few hours. when wiring your deck in all u have to do is buy a harness for your jeep and match all of the wires to the harness that came on your new deck. as far as wiring in the sub you only have to run a few wires for that, RCA cables to the back of your deck, a ground for your amp, power from your battery to your amp and speaker wires from your amp to your sub
