new sub doesn't work

Bought a new sub. Jeep had a sub amp in it when I bought it. all wires attached to sub, has factory radio. hooked up sub and no sound. Amp powers up and all fuses ok. Could it be rca input jacks not giving a signal?

Yes it can be. In can also be levels adjusted too low. Check the inputs to the amp, is there just RCA's? Are they hooked up? Factory radio probably doesn't have RCA outs, so possibly it had an aftermarket radio that the prior owner took out, therefore the RCA's aren't getting a signal. Or, there could be a LOC - line out converter - somewhere in the jeep pulling the signals off the front or rear speaker leads and converting it to RCA's. I'd check behind the radio and see if the RCA's are loose back there. If not, I'd follow the leads from the amp and see where they go.

That would be where I would start where do the other end of the RCA's plug into. The factory radio does not have RCA out in it.

There should be a line out converter somewhere along one of the speaker wires where they'll be plugged in...if the ends of the RCA cables are just hanging loosely back there, then you need to purchase a line out converter in order to hook them up to the factory headunit. Or...if it were me, purchase a new headunit...lol
