OEM fog light switch question

Is there any reason that the OEM fog light switch from a 90's TJ won't work in the switch blank in the dash of my 04 LJ? I'm referring to the one with the green light that fits in the switch blanks of the older TJ's. Also, would this be a good switch to use for adding a 2nd set of lights?

I was able to put the OEM fog lamp switch into the #3 & 4 spot (locations for the O/D & Axle Lock) The switches fit into grooves so they cannot be interchanged. I think it will slide into the #4 with no modifications but the # 3 will require you to trim the raised track on the side of the switch. I grabbed the switches from a XJ (seeing that they are the same) and used them to fill in the blanks (on my TJ all were blanks) now I "have" rear wiper, rear defroster, blank, and Ext. Idle (from a police XJ) I have these wired to the dash lights to light-up... I need a life! Hope this helps any, Todd

To answer your question, Mayo, I never heard from anybody about it. I also never bought lights. But, I got a deal on the switch so I've got it for when I do get lights.

Spot #4 is the only one I have left, so that's where it's going when the time comes.
