Pioneer avh-p2400bt Reverse Output not working

Hello everyone!

Installed a new headunit (pioneer avh-p2400bt) a while back, and it works almost flawlessly.

I have a backup camera installed on the rear bumper under the spare (ugly when tailgate is open, but pretty concealed when it's closed). And it turns on automatically when the reverse is engaged because I tapped into the reverse light output.

BUT, when using the PAC C2R-CHY4 wiring harness, the headunit doesn't switch automatically. I'm 99.99% sure I'm using the correct wire.

When I test the wire with my voltmeter, it's at a constant ~11.4V regardless of reverse gear or not (batter is around 12.5V at this point, so may be some high resistance load with some current somewhere...).

Any ideas? I can get into review mode manually, but it'd be nice for it to just work when I switch to reverse.

Thanks for any help

The pioneer's reverse input should be a purple/white wire, and the PAC's wire should be green/purple, if I remember correctly. The PAC should output 12 volts on this wire only when in Reverse.

The pioneer might have a setting in the menu's to turn the reverse input on, so that will be need to switched before the video will trigger in Reverse.

When I measure that PAC output wire via voltmeter, it's always around 12V.. no idea what to do =(

Any other way to easily tap into the gear box somehow to get a 12V only when in reverse? Forget the PAC for this thing.. I think it's not working properly.

Bump! Anyone know?

I'm just asking where there's a wire near the headunit that is 12V out when in reverse, and 0 otherwise (or the opposite). This PAC connector isn't working right for me.

Thanks!
