Well I finally decided to go and buy the vehicle kit for my plug and play Sirius satellite radio. I was skeptical when I read that most of you put the magnetic antenna on the roll bar under the hard top. I was sure this was not going to work. But before I ran all the wires I placed it on the roll bar and plugged in my radio and I received a satellite signal that was 100%. I was amazed.

Also I purchased a FM Direct Adaptor to put the signal from my Sirius radio directly into the radio. I found an antenna connection behind the glove box, so I put the fm direct adaptor there instead of pulling out the radio and plugging it into the back of the radio. By plugging it in behind the glove box it works the exact same way, only easier to install.

I used a suction cup mount and placed it in the lower left hand corner of my windshield. I’ll post some pics later if its not storming to bad tomorrow. Its suppose to start to blizzard here tonight and go into tomorrow.

I ran my antenna through the firewall and up on to the hood, close to the windshield, that way roof on or off it works great.

Mine is on the roll bar under the padding. Protected from elements, out of site for theft, Plus the cable is under the padding so it can't get broken or cut.

roll bar works, but i set mine up the same way. Since the jeep has a flat windshield I used the suction cup mount too. The FM direct connect kit works PERFECT with the jeep antenna, no adapters needed like on my other vehicles, and I also used the connection behind the glove box. I put my antenna on the hood though, and ran the antenna cable through the firewall with all my other wiring that goes through the main harness gromet. Takes 20 minutes to install sirius in a jeep, even if you have no idea how to set it up. Easiest install I have had yet
