Problems with the lighting in my Jeep! Please tell me you've had the same problem

So I have a 2000 Sport and for the past few months my dome light as well as floor light has been flickering if not completely staying on when I haven't even turned it on. It's gotten much worse lately and the only thing that seems to help is if I slam the door really hard, but I'm sure that's not good for my doors. Has anyone had this same problem? Please give me some guidance if you have :)

Have you checked the switch the door activates? It may be loose so not completely compressing when the door is closed.
