question about hooking up an amp to my new head unit...(no clue)

I have a bazooka bass tube that I took out of my dads old truck as we were trading it in and I have a neighbor bringing me an amp from his pawn shop. I Just installed a new pioneer head unit and would like to know what I need and how to hook up the amp to the head unit. I will most likely mount it under the back seat. Any help and instructions would be awesome...thanks!

it's not to hard....

1)From the radio you will need a rca cable & Remote wire to run to amp
**remote wire (also can be called amp turn on and/or power antenna) normaly it's a blue/white wire off a aftermarket radio.

2) fused power wire from battery to the amp. fuse needs to be 18" or less from the battery to protect incase of a short. i run this through fire wall and use a grommet to protect it.

3) ground wire. it needs to be as short as you can from amp to a clean, un painted, metal surface of vehicle. normaly i try to use a factory bolt but when thats not there i will check and drill a hole and use a bold so i know it's solid and doesn't move.

thats about it

Don't waste your money at Best Buy...

Get this (it has all the wiring you need, fuse, connectors, etc):
8 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit

Jaydogg pretty much covered the basics of installation...just a note...on the ground. They usually say the shorter the ground the better...I think many recommend a maximum of a 12" ground wire. As mentioned, you need your ground to be touching BARE METAL on the frame. If the surface is painted where you're attaching your ground, take a file/sandpaper/wire wheel and hit it til it's bare and gives you good metal to metal contact. A bad ground will leave you with nothing but trouble.
