Radio install problem

I pulled the crappy turd aftermarket radio in the 2000 Sahara I just bought.
I want to slide my full size Pioneer in but there's this funky metal bar in the way........what gives?

It's the rear support bar for the factory radio. Unclip the windshield defroster grid panel; it's just pressure clips that need to be pulled straight up. Once you pull that, you can look down into the dash from above and you will see two 10mm bolts holding this bar in place. Unbolt them and you can fanagle the bar out of the dash; you may need to bend/twist it to get it to come out.
