Reset OEM radio

So today i had to unplug the radio power cable while installing the alarm.. now my radio wont work.. it just says pause and does nuthing.. from what i've heard it needs a code or something so if stolen it cant be used.. How do i make it work again? (cd/radio no-cassete)
Thanks

Jeep doesn't have anti-theft radios. Unless you count the metal bar that runs across the back. You don't need a code for it. I'd pull the radio out and wait 30 seconds then plug it in again. If that doesn't work I think your radio might be FUBAR.

i just figured it out.. the stock cd player suks so most of the time it doesnt run cds.. mine froze because i took out the cd on accident and then put it back in so it was trying to read it but it wasnt responding even on am/fm button .. i just tried to shut it off and turn it on again few times and it started up.. Anyhow the alarm is installed.. i found space for it on the passenger side of the radio.. there is a plastic screen that protects the side of the airbag and this is where i glued the main unit of the alarm... Now i gotta find where to make a hole in the firewall so i can put the horn in my engine bay or perhaps just wire the stock horn as the alarm but for now i will try to gather up bunch of info and then i will make it better when it gets somewhat warmer...

no need to drill through the fire wall, on the drivers side up top along the firewall there are a couple of rubber grommits that you can punch right through with a wire coat hanger, just tape the wire to it and pull it through, and all done.

sweet thanks Tiburon

By the way here is how to remove the radio or get to it (someone might need this info someday)

1. remove the plastic cover right by the winshield (the one surrounding the vin#) - no screws it just pulls up (wedge a screw driver under it and pry it up carefully)

2. There are 3 screws that secure the plastic around the radio.. 2 on top that are only visible after the plastic cover by the winshield is removed and 1 inside where the smoking tray hole is (remove the smoking tray)

3. After those 3 screws are removed the front can be pryed out.. its held in place by couple of those brackets just like the cover on top that was removed in step 1

4. 2 screws hold the radio in front and 1 screw in the back. 2 big nuts hold the bracket that holds the radio from the back (anti theft)

I could not remove the 1 screw from the back of the radio so i just removed the whole bracket. The 2 big nuts are visible right in the center around the winshield air vents.

I removed the glove box just so i can get the screw from the back of the radio...

Removing the glove box... remove the 1 screw that holds the fabric that doesnt alow it to hit the passenger when opened, then pull it back almost nearly till stuff starts to fall out of it and pull towards the seat. It should pull out right off.

the stock unit is 3.5" from top to bottom but the max that should be installed is 3.25" otherwise you will have buttons hiding behind the plastic cover steps 2-3

Hopefully the one who made the hole in the right will recognize it and speak up so i can get more info on the car
