Has anyone done this or thought on it for a bit. By my calculations you would have to make the box a bit taller but it would still fit and have room between the floor and the sub. These subs can take like 300-400 watts rms compared to the 150 from most shallow subs. Does anyone have any comments on the subs themselves do they suck. Ive only had one set of subs before and they were rockfords but I bought them a few years ago and that set up wont work in my jeep unless I take up the rear seat space and Im not gonna do that but I need some bass and the factory sub just isnt cutting it. thank you for any constructive comments.

I have dual 10" P2's in mine.400watts RMS
They sound REALLY good.
The P3's are supposed to sound even better,
but I haven't personally heard them.
As long as you stay away from the P1's you'll probably be happy.

I suggest a Rockford Power T-500-1BD to power it.

That's no sh*t either.
Brand new and unopend, hasn't given me any problems.
Rockford underrates their amps.
It was tested and is certified @ 800watts out of the box.
Unfortunately, it looks like they're not carrying the Power T-500-1BD anymore.
I see a P-500-1bd there for $270, but that's a lesser amp.
I personally would match that with a P3 sub, it might make your nice P3 sound like sh*t.
It's a decent price though I guess.

Think if it were me, I'd wait for the T-1000-BD or the T-1500-BD to come back into stock. Either one would still be cheaper than buying the T-500-1BD at Crutchfield for $579.

Yeah, that's too much power....but you don't have to turn it up that high.
Better to have too much, than too little.
And you'll probably never have to buy another amp for bass again.
Might need one for your other four speakers to keep up with it though...lol.

Thanks man for the response. I already have a 400 watt rms rockford that I had wired to those previous speakers. I had already thought about replacing the factory speakers and powering them by amp probably 50x4 rms any suggestions on those. I would probably make the fronts 5-1/4 though. Thanks for any suggestions and also the cartronix suggest they have really good prices plus they look legit do you know if they are hard to deal with if you have a problem.

I have an Alpine 300watt 4 channel for the other speakers. (75watts per channel) Works great!
Definitely put the 5.25" in the dash, it makes a difference.
6.5" in the soundbar helps too.
I have to sets of Infinity Kappa 2ohms that let me utilize the full power of the amp. Not that you need to, but it's a good way to match stuff up.

All I can comment on is the Fosgate Power T-500-1-BD that I bought from Cartonix.
It was brand new, certified, and completely sealed in every way.
Since I've never had any trouble with my amp, I don't know how their customer service is. However, I do know they are not an authorized dealer. So the Rockford warranty isn't worth squat. They provide an in house warranty that matches the length of the Rockford warranty.
That was good enough for me because of the huge amount of money saved.
But I really don't know how they'd treat you if something went bad.
It's a toss up. Sorry I couldn't be of more help with that.
Maybe try googling them, and seeing if any negative stuff comes up.
