I have both.

I have XM in my Jeep and my wife's car. Sirius in my other car and my daughter's car.

Like em both for various reasons. Sirius has the MTV VJ's of the 80's, so that makes it fun (Hunter, Blackwood, Goodman, and Quinn). Their musical selections are pretty good too. Stern if you like him (I don't). They also have Nascar and NFL.

XM has NCAA, MLB, and NHL. Musical selections are very similar but I don't like the DJ's nearly as much.

If I had to do it over again, I'd probably opt for Sirius.

You'll eventually have the best of both worlds...that won't happen this year though...they haven't committed to a date yet. I have found that the reception on Sirius is better than XM but I don't listen to either now that I have the ipod connected directly.

I've got XM and love it but I've never heard Serious so I can't compare the two.
I drive all night so I listen to the old time radio dramas and audio book stories to keep awake. I don't know how I survived so long before getting XM, it definately made truck driving safer.
"But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." - Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, 1782

Arguing with a truck driver is like wrestling with a pig in mud, eventually you realize the pig enjoys it.

I have XM. I don't have any complaints with them. I can catch Cubs games all summer long. They are also on DirectTV packages. Don't know much about Sirius. They are going to join together. That should be interesting in the future.

We have XM. I LOVE IT! I hope the FCC doesn't bar the two from merging.

Bit the bullet a few days ago and caved on satellite radio. We got XM for the jeep and will soon be getting another radio for the Acura.
It's not like everyone here at work talked about. The channels I listen to still have commercial breaks. I like the fact that now I don't have to search for a radio station everytime I get to the limit of a signal.

One question for those that already have it installed. I have the antenna mounted to the cage just above my head. I loose signal sometimes and other times it will fade or get weak. I understand that when going under a bridge or canopy this will happen but this occurs periodically when in the open on clear sunny days. Could it be my antenna placement?

Bah she beat me again

I deal with XM at work on the new GMs all day, and I hate it. I cant stand the DJs, the song choices, I think, are never right, and they dont have any of the "extras" that I liked such as stern, NFL, nascar etc.

Sirius I had for year and I f'n loved it. I thought it was the best thing on the earth. There are much more "styles" of music if your not into mainstream, and the DJ, in my opinion, are much better. also, sirius had the playboy channel

One thing I did notice though. The talk stations on sirius, no the music ones, did have some commercials (like stern) to pay for it. The music stations had quick Sirius satelite commercials but that was it. Also, with sirius you get internet radio, not sure about XM.

finally, I have noticed this on both of them, but it seems to be genre based. Some stations dont, some do. Both of them on certain stations, seem to play the same songs over and over again sometimes, and it gets a little agrivating. Almost have to switch from country to classic rock for a few days etc. just to not hear everything 100 times.

good luck
