Sony XPLOD Speakers?

Hi Everyone,

I was (tirelessly) reviewing all of the posts on replacement speakers for a 1997 TJ, from going to 6.5" in the soundbar to 5.25" in the dash, Polks to Alpine to Kickers, and wanted to know what anybody thinks of simple Sony XPLOD 4x6s in the dash and 5.25 in the soundbar. I can get both sets at Wally World fairly cheaper than the higher-end speakers at Quadratech, Crutchfiled, etc.

Are these worth it for a decent OEM speaker upgrade? I have a Sony XPLOD head, and thought these might be decent.

Thanks Everyone for your feedback!

if you hate your ears get them. I hate the way they sound. a good middle of the road pioneer speaker is hard to beat for the price

I have to agree with Irongrave. I have those exact speakers in my TJ, I should have taken the Crutchfield route but i got impulsive and I regret it. Spend a little more and you should be happy.

STAY AWAY FROM SONY! stay with polk, infinity, kicker, and alpine to name a few.

lets say you spend $125 on a sony unit. you are paying $25 for the letter S, $25 for the letter o, $25 for the letter n, $25 on the letter y, and the last $25 goes to the headunit, in other works its a paper weight.
