Sound in 00 TJ

The sound is awful. Is it the stock deck or the stock speakers?

a little of both. i would say the speakers are worse than the headunit. most people get a new headunit first, it will make the factory speakers sound a little better but not too much.

yeah the factory speakers are a paper pulp cone, it allows too much flex, once it gets moist it no longer has rigidity, and the foam surrounds also start to fall apart.

All the speakers can be replaced. I would start with a decent haedunit and than see if the speakers sound a bit better. With a new unit u can add onto it, like an iPod Sirius radio. And a new unit will have more sound enhancers to make the stock speakers sound a bit better

Don't think they make a sub that small. U could get a set of speakers with a low frequency range and stuff the sound bar with poly fill.

factory sound bars come with 5.25"s, and the factory dash has 4"x6"s. You can fit 5.25"s in the dash, and 6.5"s in the sound bar.
