Sound system question? do people do even do it

hahaha, so I love music. I love customizing the interior of vehicles. Mainly because everything is "small scale" and the fiberglass, bondo, etc... can easily be done in you garage. Does anyone even do that kind of stuff with jeep wranglers? I would imagine not due to the fact that it is easily accessible. Anyhow, new vehicle and I got the bug. Its just got me thinking.

pics?

The real skill is getting a kikass sound system in your Jeep, but having it so that at first glance theres only the stock system.
The skill is having a great system but a stealthy install.

My amp is hidden under the backseat and padlocked to the floor.
My Sub is in the trunk hidden under the top when its down and bolted to the side.
My stereo has a detatchable faceplate that I take with me.
I got great Alpine speakers in the front and roll bar but good luck getting those out without causing as scene.

if you have a TJ there isn't as much stuff, but for YJ's (up till 95's) there's TONS of stuffs for the dash and stuff, then of course for all jeeps there's the different knobs etc etc.

as for a sound system, try your hardest to buy marine parts so that you don't have to worry if you forget to put your top up and it rains or if you go water fording, it may cost a little extra but in the long run it will save a lot of worrying and possibly money.
as for parts, i have two amps, 8 6 inch speakers 2 in dash four in roll bar and two sitting over the tires in their own boxes, and then a 1" sub in a sub box that that is 11 inches inches and wide and three feet long and is in the trunk, all that and it can get deafaningly loud, the only time ive ever had it turned all the way up was when i used the remote to do it from 25 feet away to see how loud it would actually go, so i dont think you need as much as i have, but hey it already came on the jeep and im sure as hell not gonna take time to take it off/out

Haha, I have so much stereo equipment for my 98 sierra. Half the stuff is in my closet and the other I took out after my cat got broken into (thank god they couldn't get my alpine indash out... idiots!). I doubt I would put them in there since my equipment would be worth more than I paid for the 00' Jeep. I have an Sony MEX-5di I quit using and 2" sony 10"explode subs (pieces, don't care if stolen, but they work). Probably throw that in there, get a new amp and some components.

Man-o-man I am stoked for this new project though. I love car audio and just what you can do with fiberglass

I think my sound sestem sounds pretty good of coarse you cant here it from across town but it sounds good

I replaced the sound bar speakers with some 6" kenwoods and the dash speakers were changed with some 5 1/4" kenwoods I changed the factory sub (located in the center console)with a 8" fosgate and I put the fosgate amp under the seat
along with the aftermarket deck
it sound great even with the top off driving 70 on the highway

cool. Yea, I just got into stereo equioment from www.fullsizechevy.com I ended up just finding a lot of good deals and it's amazing how many people can hook you up. Some guy sold these subs out from under me to one of his friends. He worked part time at a stereo shop and felt bad. Talked the owner into selling me two 15" crystal CMP X2 subs at cost. They retail for 575 each. Granted it was too much, but it was such a good deal. Those things kill you in an extended cab truck.

Anways, I am not looking for anything extravagant. I will probably just make two "stealth" boxes out of fiberglass for some shitty tens I have laying around. I was just curious what people do with their wranglers. you got pics?
