Speakers

Does anyone know of a good brand of speakers? Mine are starting to go out and I want to replace them with something with good audio quality and one that will last.

Best advice I can give you is to find out your speaker sizes and check out Amazon/Cruchfield reviews and see what people say. Lots of the JK guys have marine-grade Polks and are happy. Anything is better than stock so you can't lose/

Polk's are a very popular choice due to their sound quality, marine rating, and price.

Cowboy, If I can remember correctly from my '98 TJ it had two 4x6's in the front dash and two 5 1/4's in the sound bar. Like JMA said, it is hard to go wrong with Infinity. Kappa's are the high dollar Infinity's while the Reference series is a little more friendly on the wallet. I'm running 6 Infinity Reference speakers with a Infinity Kappa Perfect Component 10" sub. Boy does that sub hit hard. The key to good clean loud speakers is an amp. You want your speakers to sound real good? Power them up.

Get the 5.25" speaker plates from Nalin, and some high sensitivity speakers like Polk Audio or Infinity. The Polk's are popular with Jeepers because they are marine certified. With the Nalin plates, you can do 5.25" speakers in the front with no modification; the rear soundbar can easily fit 6.5" speakers. Get a decent aftermarket stereo to really see a difference in sound.
