Spot GPS locator

Does anyone use the Spot GPS tracker/locator? If so how do you like it?

In our Adventure Bike/Dirt Bike world a few of my buddies use them with great appreciation. Love them! Wouldn't go on a solo trek without it. Might be a good investment if you do solo exploring...

Went ahead and got one of these units, Best Buy had them on sale for $99.00, after it came I activated it, signed up for the general services as well as the tracker feature, had the chance to try it out this past weekend and it was great...I usually travel alone for miles on end out in the desert and rarely come across anyone else and cell phone coverage is spotty at best, when ever I did have a bar or two of service I checked in with the wife and she was able to see right where I was at 10-15 min intervals...I could push the "I'm OK" button every few hours no matter where I was, it not only made her feel better I also felt better knowing that she was not wondering if I was ok or not. Great safety device I would recommend it to anyone who travels the back country, alone or not!

I've had the older model, and the newer model. Both are great. While not a true epirb, it is very cost effective alternative for most situations. I love 'em.
