I'd like a CD player. My tj has the stock AM/FM cassette. I'm tired of searching out cassettes I would listen to at truck stops and gas stations.
I'm simple, don't need my stereo to hook up to an ipod or satellite. I currently only have the front dash speakers. AM/FM with CD player is all I want, with more speakers. What are everyone's suggestions for replacing the stereo ? Should I get an upgraded stock stereo from the dealer ? I already tried the cassette adapter to portable CD player, lousy sound quality. I've quit using it because it's so dissapointing. Gave the walkman to my kids. I have a '98 SE. Are there stereos that will just switch out ? Or will they have to have an adapter plate to fill in the difference in space on the dash ?
