Do you have steering wheel controls or stock subwoofer, and do you know the Din size of your stock radio?

I generally go to crutchfield for all my head units. They will know what fits and will include harnesses and install kits as well as vehicle specific instructions for install...

Okay, well I believe you have a double din stereo in a JK. So, with double din stereos the screen can be quite large so, you don't really need a flip out. I have a flip out touch screen in my Jeep. But, it is a singe din stereo. There are some large screen touch screen Double Din stereo's out there, but, I would seriously consider a detachable face.

And yes, Crutchfield does have a nice selection, but they can be a bit steep on the price. It is probably because they give certain needed accessories for free when you buy from them. I would browse the Crutchfield Double din Stereos and see if they have anything that you like. Then, I would probably shop for the stereo from somewhere else, and compare the prices.

For example Crutchfield sells the Alpine PDX-V9 for $699. With Shipping, That is over $700.
Amazon sells the same amp for $410, with free shipping. That is a difference of $300. That is ridiculous IMO.

As Far as a particular stereo, I'm really liking the Pioneer Double Dins. This one looks really nice with all the options. The Pioneer App3 is really popular, but I've heard some bad things about it. This other Pioneer looks nice too.

I don't look for popularity when I look for car stereo's. I look for quality.
There are 67 reviews on it at Crutchfield, and it was given 4-1/2 out of 5 stars. I think that is excellent. It has a detachable face for security and Pandora and Bluetooth. I provided a link for it, and you can read it. There is a full page of info and a details tab. If for some reason you can't see that page, here is a general list.

I went with the JVC KWAV61BT for a few reasons...

-Touch Screen
-Blue Tooth
-Navigation ready, with iPhone app and AV cord
-Didn't break the bank
-And most importantly, it was one of the only units out there with a detachable face.

Amazon.com: JVC KWAV61BT 6.1-Inch DVD-CD-USB Bluetooth Receiver: Car Electronics

You'll need these to install it:

Amazon.com: Scosche Dash Kit for 2007 Dodge Nitro / Jeep Wrangler / Chrysler Sebring: Car Electronics

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You'll need this if you want Sirius:

Amazon.com: SiriusXM SXV200v1 Connect Vehicle Tuner for SiriusXM-Ready Car Stereo Receivers: Car Electronics

And you'll need this if you want to retain your steering wheel controls.

Amazon.com: PAC RP4-CH11 Radiopro4 Stereo Replacement Interface for Select Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen Vehicles: Car Electronics

This is what the Nav looks like using the iPhone and GPS Drive app.

Install the Motion X GPS Drive app on your phone, and connect your phone with one of these.

In a TJ it was 1.5din. In a JK, the whole vehicle was changed and it is Double Din. Here is the thread where a 2007 JK(First year of JK), and the owner said his radio was a Double Din.

the newer jk is only 1.5 din, with any stereo. my new 2014 you can tell just above the volume control there is a groove, the above portion is half of the lower witch is single din.
