8Ga is fine. If it makes you sleep better at night- run 4 gauge from the battery to the distribution block, then split it to 2- 8 gauge wires. I would save yourself some cash and just get 8 Gauge throughout.

I'm pushing 2 of these with 8gauge, the wires corrode at the ends because of the power draw and have to be re-cut at the battery connection every now and then.

I have a rx or zx or whatever it was kicker amp.. 2x450 however when bridged it runs 900 watts at 4 ohms. as i said i have a 12" kicker square sub in a custom box.. Kicker L7.

It sounds amazing and its loud enough to pop the vents on my hard top.

I have it running on 4 gauge wire and will not have it any other way. Spend 5-10 bucks extra but get the good stuff instead of pushing it. I would get the 4 gauge and be done with it.

I drilled a hole in the firewall by the passengers feet and ran the wire through there to the battery. Others ran it through the rubber groomet by the drivers side however i found it useless to run it all the way there instead of drilling a hole that is 3 feet closer.

Currently i have the amp mounted to the sub box and the box is mounted to the floor.

What sub? lol

well yes it will do just fine however not for long. I used to have 8 gauge wires on my old setup that had like 300 rms (1000 max) and when i took it off, you could see the wires were almost melted through at spots. Why did i buy 8 gauge? I was in high school working at Mcdonald's and thought i wanted to go 10 bucks cheaper and buy 8 gauge instead of 4.

Also toby how are you pushing it to 800 rms?

Also from my experience the CVR kickers punch hard. Not as in loud but the bass is just hard.. like almost some one knocking on a desk. The L7s are where the good bass is at. its like some one is hitting you with a pillow. I guess it depends what people like.. i like soft bass others like it hard.. lol

These are louder than my friends L7, and my other friends dual mtx's. I had the loudest system at school out of 2500 students. I put them in my friends car, and it made my ears pop, and his visors were flapping until one went all the way down. Best song is probably sexual seduction, but grippin tha grain sounds beasty. And I push 800, by over-clocking it. Because of that if I listen to it really high for more than 30 min it will stop because its overheating. Pics of the install in a min

As i said i like soft bass and soft bass is much more expensive to produce than a loud hard bass. I will take quality over loudness any day when it comes to sound system and this is what i have in my jeep.

Kool, thanks Mr C, i will keep that in mind. The last time i went to wallmart they had the red sony xplods on the walls so i just walked away. Those systems make me sick.

I know how to oc a computer but how do you do that to a amp? Why not add more coolong to it. The heat will kill it just like a pc.

BTW toby looking at the specs, the CVRs are weaker than the L7s. Either your friends sub box or amp sux but the cvrs are rated lower than the L7s

1 L7 is weaker than 2 cvr's though. More displacement with 2 subs
