Arrow sub/amp setup in a tj

I'm thinking of getting a sub for my tj. I would love to see pics of your set up. That would help me decide what I want to do. I was thinking about a small 8" kicker. But don't know to much about subs.

hey, i found this guy online, and recently ordered a sub box from him online... not bad prices, and good quality it seems. When it comes in I can give you guys more feedback, but i cant wait... Plan on using the yj style box with a 10" sub and amp

what kind of budget do you have?

i have a pioneer p6900ub with sirius radio and ipod, infinity kappa plate speakers in front, infinity kappa perfect components in the roll bar, 10" audiobahn immortal sub, and temporarily i have a profile california amp(blew my nice amp a few days ago) as for pictures

for a sub is it better to have 2 ohm or 4 ohm? Or does it really matter?

usually a lower ohm is better, if you get a sub with a duel voice coil there are more wiring options in terms of what ohm you are looking for. im sure tripp will chime in with all the wire diagrams to better explain.

no no no no. Ohms has nothing to do with being "better"..... at all. It simply tells you what resistance that particular speaker is. Standard resistance for subwoofers (in a car) is 4ohms. That's what most amps are rated at, for example when you buy an amp it will say 300 Watts (at 4ohms.) Look for a good 4ohm sub and a quality amp and let it fly! You will not notice a huge difference in sound quality between a good sub and a real expensive sub, so don't go too crazy. The biggest difference you will hear is from your highs/midrange because your ears are more sensitive to those frequencies- so spend a bit more that you think on those AND the amplifier. Junk amps make junk sound- they're prone to interference and have cheap crossovers inside. hope this gives you a bit more info than you had before...

How does one wire a dual voice coil sub to a single channel amp?

depends on the sub, some work best sealed and some ported.

this is what was written at the bottom of the "hands on research" page for your sub

Power Handling: The power handling specifications differ according to the type and size of the enclosure. The power handling specifications assume that both voice coils are in use. Note: Both voice coils in a dual voice coil speaker should always be connected.

Recommended Sealed Box Volume:

* Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 0.8 cu/ft; the woofer can handle up to 300 watts RMS (150 watts per voice coil)
* SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 3 cu/ft; the woofer can handle up to 300 watts RMS (150 watts per voice coil)

Recommended Vented Box Volume:

* Compact: 1.25 cu/ft; 2" x 10.5" port opening; 20" port depth; the woofer can handle up to 200 watts RMS (100 watts per voice coil)
* SPL/Deep Bass: 1.75 cu/ft; 2.5" x 10.5" port opening; 20" port depth; the woofer can handle up to 200 watts RMS (100 watts per voice coil)

4ga should be ok. you might want to take a look at a duel amp wiring kit like these

I have a 12" kicker and i have enough space to fit both of my full steel doors back there. I love my kicker, it sounds amazing. I"ll post some pics later.

8ga is totally fine. buy a distribution block to spilt the power to the two amps, that's the way to do it. also can i just say one thing... What's with all the Crutchfield references?? everybody on the forum sh!ts on Quadratec all the time... don't you realize Crutchfield is the Quadratec of Car Audio!?!!!
