Subwoofer in rear seat

I was currently looking through youtube for some new ideas with my wrangler with Subs. I saw someone took out alot of the cushioning from the bottom of the rear seat and inserted a sub. does anyone think this is a bad idea and if so please explain. i like the idea because i save my trunk space (the little that we have ha) but i feel like the space is to small and it might blow the sub and the pounding of the ass of the rear passenger would be TERRIBLE haha let me know if you have seen or done this! thanks for your time!

i'm never big on these ideas for a couple reasons..

1) depending on how much you remove makes back seat useless, or will not feel to good sitting on.

2) most ppl doing these kind of things forget sub's require a certian amount of air space. and sub's has to have room to move.

and your correct if a sub isn't in the correct airspace box it will blow up.

just a example most 10" subs are about 4-5" deep....add in 1.5" for wood on top and bottom, then 3/4" space between magnet and back of box so sub can breath...then add in a couple inches for sum to move it add's up fast, also most 10" subs need .6-.9 cubic feet of airspace in a sealed box.

it sucks... not saying you can't do it...i would look into several things, do you really need sub's? how often do ppl use your back seat? etc etc
