Subwoofer install

So i am doing a sub install for a friend on his 2009 Wrangler Sahara. It has the Infinity subwoofer in the trunk. I have not been able to find any information about this online and dont know where some of the wires are.
so has anyone done this? i know its probably stupid to do in a Jeep but he really wants it (and dont respond with stuff about how he shouldnt do it)
i have done an install on my BMW and it was very simple and there was a lot of information, but i cant find anything on the Jeeps.

So the things i need to know:

-is there a signal wire in the trunk
-how do i run the power wire (where do wires come thru the firewall)
-how many wires does the rear sub have (just 2?)

thanks
Patrick

(I'm assuming you're adding the amp and sub to the stock system)

An easy way would be to go with this for the pre-amp connections to the additional amplifier (PAC C2A-CHY2):

PAC C2A-CHY2 Chrysler Add an Amplifier Adapter, Car Stereo Kits, Audio Wiring Harnesses, Installation Equipment, Electronics, Accessories & Adapters

It has your stereo outputs plus the remote amp turn-on wire.

The battery wire runs through the firewall which I believe is on the passengers side behind the panel.

yes i want to add the sub system to the stock system
ok so i looked at another forum and then his car and it goes thru the firewall at the driver's side

i really wish i could get that, it looks like it would be a lot simpler, but he doesnt want to spend that kind of money and i'd have to order it and couldnt do it this weekend

thanks though

anyone else done this??

Honestly, that ebay option is your best bet. Finding the right wires to splice, and then doing so w/o interference will be a MAJOR pain in the ass.

That being said, there's no reason to put subs in a jeep. With the hardtop the bass hits REALLY hard. I have a small 60W 10 inch, and even that is hitting pretty decent.

See there,

and here's what you'll need.

Scosche SLC4 Four-channel line output converter at Crutchfield.com

Now are you trying to add subwoofers to the existing system or replace the existing subwoofers? If you want to add them (w/ there own amp), then the easier thing is to look for the amp (not sure in JK) and find a bundle of four wires (2 blacks and then two same colored w/ one striped) figure out what ground is to what colored wire and then splice into the four wires with quick splice clips. Run those wires to your line level converter (MAKE SURE TO GET THE BLACK WIRES CORRECT), and then output that to your amp.

Like I said, I don't know too much about the JKs and firewall location, just be sure to run power one side and audio cables the other. Interference in these cars is nasty.
