Subwoofer wiring

I am putting two 10 inch subwoofers in my 2000 sport. Before wiring it, where is the best spot to get through the firewall? And should I run the wires under the carpet or should I run them with the roll bars? Thanks

Theres a very big rubber hole cover right in the middle of the firewall that I had to stand on a step ladder to reach when I did my amp wiring.
It drops nicely behind the radio on the other side and can be pulled through by removing the cover below the steering wheel.
All it all it was a much easier job than on my Suby

I already had a 12"sub in a Walmart 'build-yourself' sub box.
I had to use a saw to reduce its width to the same as the subwoofer depth in order to fit behind the back seat!

I got the power wire and wire from the back of thr stereo going under the carpet with the sub under the back seat.
It was all very accessable and easy to do
Sounds great its just not very stealthy.

i drilled a hole through the firewall since i didnt want to run 4 gauge wires across the entire engine compartment. The location where i drilled my hole is right in the passenger feet area right next to the battery and i ran it on the outisde by the door of the passenger seat. I ran my rca cables underneath my center console, under the carpet and out to the back to the amp...

I have a rubber grommet now.. when i snapped that picture i didnt have big enough drill...

Thats looking towards the firewall from the passenger seat.

that is looking up from behind the passengers wheel.

and the way i connected it to my "red top"

Here you go.
From the battery through the firewall, behind the radio, under the carpet to the back seat where the amp is, then to the Sub in the trunk.
The other wire going through the rubber thing is the XM radio antenna wire thats stuck onto the hood.

rear seat enclosure

I used this box: http://www.offroadtoystore.com/Merch...ory_Code=33Eng... it fits right in the rear seat. It doesnt take up anyu trunk room and you cant even tell there is a subwoofer in the jeep. Sounds great too! I will post pictures later today so anyone can check it out

My back seat is used alot, is it more uncomfortable and difficult to 'modify the seat frame' as they say?
I like this setup alot.
