Taillights won't turn off!

HELP!!!! I just bought my first Jeep - a 2000 Wrangler SE, 4 cyl, 5 spd- 4 days ago. I've already put a few hundred miles on it, mostly driving to and from work (I'm an amateur wrestler). I work nights and when I came home last night (4 am) I noticed my brake lights came on even though I wasn't braking. When I got in the driveway and turned off the vehicle and the lights, the three brake lights were still on! Can't get the durn things to shut off ... Everything else works properly - turn signals, reverse lights, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Had same issue on Dodge Ram when I took dash apart to replace A/C diverter box. When I put it back together the switch/button that is pressed by the brake pedal came out of alignment. I tweaked the metal bracket and all was well.
