The cluster/radio problem....

So for the last month or so I have been on this forum and other sites that talk specifically about wranglers, and I have found many to have the same problem I have had for the last two months. They ask how to fix it, just like I have, and then a couple people respond and you never hear if that resolved anything. I have the cluster/radio problem, they both went out on me and haven't worked for two months now. I have tried everything from checking ground connections to using a continuity checker on just about everything. Someone even told me to bend the back part of the cluster(the male parts) so that they are connected better when I slip it back on. Last night my buddy(electrical engineer) and I worked on it for about four hours and got no where! I want a response from someone who has had this problem, and how they fixed it. There is one thing we discovered last night, that the main DC power to the radio has no voltage and instead reads that it is grounded somewhere! Is that a shortage? What does it have to do with the cluster? I simply want to listen to radio and be able to tell how fast I am going and when I need gas.....is that too much to ask??? Please respond And yes I have checked the fuse.

I see that you say you have checked the fuse. Did you check the fuses behind the glove box or did you check the fuses under the hood on the main panel by the battery? I had the same problem you describe and it ended up being a fuse under the hood, but for the life of me I can't remember which one it was off the top of my head.

So..... any resolution to this? I have the EXACT same problem, and it's driving me crazy. No one seems to have a definitive answer on how to fix this. Any advice? I just spent about $350 in radio/speakers and would like to be able to listen to them. Knowing how much gas I have would be a plus too thanks.

Fixed! It was a fuse under the hood, number 25/IOD. I missed it last night in the dark. I hope this helps someone in the future, I'm not sure why messing with the light in the driver's side foot area would blow this fuse, but I see that it's happened to a lot of people.
