thermostat reads cold

my thermostat has been reading cold for a while now, it will go up a bit but i live in breckenridge co and am afraid that it will get too cold over night and ill have starting problems, among others.... i plan on flushing the radiator this weekend to hopefully get it back to normal... any feedback? i dont think its the thermostat cause it will go up a bit

The thermostat could be one that fails in the open position thus not restricting the flow and letting ut get hot

Agreeed. When my thermostat stuck open the temp guauge never went above 150 degrees.
