TJ soundbar speaker size

How are you guys fitting 6 1/2" speakers? Several threads here recommend the 6 1/2" Kickers. But Crutchfield recommends 5 1/4" which is what my stock speakers measure (pic below). Are you using an adapter plate? Cutting bigger hold in the plastic pods? Help! Thanks.

Jeep is an 04 Rubi with the stock subwoofer in the center console. Just installed an Alpine iDA-X305s head unit and ordering the adapter from Amazon to install 5 1/4" front speakers.

Most are just drilling new mounting holes and using the Grills supplied with the New 6 1/2.

I installed 6 1/2" Pioneers in my 97 with no drilling.
It's my daily driver, if it breaks I'm screwed.
