Uconnect bluetooth problems

I have a '12 wrangler and every time I connect my phone (IPhone 4s) to the Bluetooth and try to play music it has this weird distortion. It is never distorted on any other setting i.e. Cd, radio. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Which radio do you have? Also, where is the volume on the phone when you are streaming audio? The volume needs to be pretty much all the way up, then use the radio volume for control.

I had the same situation with my 2011 Jeep GC and iPhone 4. I can't remember who told me but it turned out that the radio was compatible with iPods but not iPhones. I had the same issue if I plugged the phone into the usb port. I now have a 2014 Wrangler with the 430N radio and also have an iPhone 5s and have not experienced the same issue. I don't know if there is a software upgrade available for your radio but it can't hurt to check with the dealer.

Both of the above are great suggestions. Remember, bluetooth is a wireless connection and therefore subject to all sorts of background interferences. It's never going to be as good as a direct connection. I have noticed that I get a much cleaner connection if I use the AUX port instead of the Bluetooth Connection. A Direct Connection is almost always better and cleaner than a wireless connection. A Direct Connection is also safer, because you won't be distracted with telephone calls, while driving.

The above suggestions of iphone volume and software upgrades are also excellent suggestions. Good Luck.

Someone gave you some bad information on the 2011 vehicle. There was an issue with that year if you had a 730 / 730N radio but not with the others. There also was a SW update that came out for issues with APPLE products and the 730 series radios.
Uconnect is built by 3 different suppliers and issues are not the same between them all. An issue has to be looked at based upon the radio that is in the vehicle.
