Uniden PRO505XL good/bad??? Cb newbie here

I know nothing about radios.Is this going to be a decent radio? I dont need anything crazy.For $40.00 its damn inexpensive.

The Pro505XL is a newer radio, but it is based (loosely)on the tried and true PRO510XL which is an inexpensive and tough little radio. Granted, I sell both, but would recommend a PRO510XL

I don't know much about the new radios, but Uniden was one of the standards in the CB field at one time. Their chassis was in a large majority of units with different exterior brands. I would imagine they are still at least acceptable if not one of the better units available unless compared to some exotic multi-band unit that would be 10 times the cost. Should be good for what it was designed to do.

I think it boils down to options. All radios are limited to 4w transmit. Just depends on if you want to add a PA speaker, what the display is like, and other goodies. For me it was mainly a mic that looked comfortable, and PA feature and digital display, But I do wish they had a memory function on the cheaper ones to stay on the same channel when you turn the key off and on
