US / European FM frequencies

Maybe some of you know about this:

In Europe different/more FM frequencies are used. In the US the radios dial only to .1 .3 .5 .7 .9, in Europe every 0.1.

Can you switch any of the radios sold in 2012 US models to work with the European steps? The stock 130, hopefully?

Or how would you tackle this?

Thanks, Felix

dont think there is anything you can do with the stock unit. i would guess that a wranglers sold in Europe would have it that way.

I have a Japanese HU that only receives the European stations. There are antenna adapters out there that convert it to work with US stations (you just plug them in on the antenna line).

I haven't looked for one, but I bet there is something similar to convert US headunits to European. Look on the European based ebay.

The one for my Japanese radio was only arund $20 I believe.

I would like to know as well. They broadcast AFN (armed forces network radio) on 106.0 and 107.0 here in Italy and of course my stock radio will only hit 105.9 or 106.1 and all I get is silly Italian music and talk shows.

Some after market radios can easily be setup for US or other frequencies. I remember trying to tune into a local station that broadcast on a low channel, but for some reason the radio I had wouldn't pick it up. The internal tuner was off. But I was able to switch it to another mode, can't remember what it was called, and dial in at 0.05Mhz at a time, which is what you want.

Got my Google Foo working, and cam up with two sets of instructions, both simular.

As I'm not a Chrysler mechanic, nor do I play one on TV, try at your own risk.
You're on your own, boy.
This offer is void in all states.

1) Turn radio on.
2) Radio should be in FM mode.
3) Press SET button.
4) Press SEL button.
5) Press station memory set button one 5 times. Radio will reset to lowest AM frequency.
6) To return to North American reception repeat steps 1 - 5 or disconnect ignition off power source to radio.
1. Turn on the radio;
2. switch to the FM band;
3. set the frequency to the lowest possible;
4. press SET;
5. press SEL;
6. press memory button no. 1 five times.

The radio will reset itself, all settings will be lost but it can now also receive the even frequency numbers.
