What are these cords?

I don't want to sound like a noob. But could you tell me what each one is and what it did or does? The guy we bought it from bought it at an auction and had no idea what they where.

The two with connecters are RCA's for speakers.
The thick red it power for a amp.
The little blue wire is a remote wire.

They are for a after market amp. (subs).

I would make sure there is NOT still power going through the blue and red wires.

listen to all the speakers to see if they produce sound. if they do and you dont have an amp
then they are running off the head unit. it looks like an amp used to be hooked up. def make sure that the old power cable(red) and remote wire(blue) aren't hooked up to the battery. if they are (a) unhook them or (b) cover the ends with electrical tape, (a) is the preferred method

sorry that came out weird. the headunit plays music but i have no idea if any of those cables still have power to them. also, if the red cord is still connected can i still attach it to an amp or what?
what does a remote wire do?
if they are unhooked how can i reconnect it?

the remote wire turns pn the amp when you turn on your jeep. the red wire runs directly off the battery with a fuse somewhere between the battery and amp. and yes if they are still hooked up you can run it to another amp

A simple test light will tell you if any of those wires still have power.

Look under the hood, you should be able to find that red wire coming off the battery and it should go into an inline fuse somewhere near the battery. Pull the fuse out and then you don't have to worry about that one, cut the exposed wire off of the blue wire then fold the end over and tape it off.
