I have an idea but am not sure how to make it work. Any ideas would be appreciated. I want to get rid of my car stereo, mount my CB in that spot, and then find a way to mount my iPhone to the dash and play it through the original speakers. Any idea on how would I hook up the iPhone to the speakers without the stereo?

you need an amp to power the speakers but its real easy to do. use a switch on the remote wire to get power to the speakers (basically tells the amp to turn on/off) and use an auxillary cable to hook the iphone to the amp and youre all set

same general principle as the "ice chest radios"

So just find a cheap amp and stuff it under the dash, hook a switch to it to turn it on, and then hook the iPhone to it. Sounds simple enough. Are we talking about any old 12 volt switch to run to the remote?

Yep the amp takes a large ground and constant 12v canoe then (usually blue) 12v smaller control wire from the radio, just use that for the rocker switch to tell it to power up. You do NOT want to run tHe main power through a switch as it usually draws too much.
