Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I haven't had any problems. My leg will rub it now and then, but not enough to bother me. I've smacked my knuckle on it once with the 4wd lever just because it was being stubborn and wouldn't shift into 4wd and had to use a little more force than normal. Other than that, I love it. It's surprisingly out of the way, easy access, and it looks good!

My red antenna light is always on when I push the mic in... And the one above it, I have Uniden something radio.. Idk how to fix it, anyone in SC wanna help install?
This might mean the antenna needs to be matched or there is a problem with the coax.
what was the SWR when you installed it?
As for where I mounted mine, its on the drivers side of the counsel but its getting moved to a ARR overhead radio mount when I get time.

If you're not going to use one like the Cobra 75 (hand size), then put it on the overhead and above the rearview mirror is the most effecient/logical/productive/convienent--

As mentioned previously, there are several "methods) to doit, but it's still the best place !!

Since my 97 doesn't have an airbag switch I mounted my radio on the dash, in the center, fairly low near the center console (under my ARB switches and cigarette lighter plug). I have always been considering one of those Cobra 75 WXST models where everything is either in the handset, or in a very small box mounted remotely.

Wink uniden mounted

i have a right side drive and wondered the same thing, where to mount radio. My doughter actually came up with this. 2x12 board tied to top of rollbars hard top put back on, then radio mounted. By the way the top light says your radio is putting out, if the bottom light comes on, then your swr is out of range. set your swr/cal switch to cal, put radio on ch 1 and adjust swr knob so the needle is on the triangle at the end when you key the mike. switch to swr and key again the needle should be around the 1.5 mark. if this doesnt work i recomend taking it to a cb shop and having them check it. may cost $20 for them to set itas opposed to $30-50 for a new antenna.

I removed my air bag selector switch, modified the console some, and stuck it in there, I really like it, but I need to finish it up to cover the rest of the opening. I am thinking a switch plate some time. The mic is mounted using an existing screw in the dash and a regular mic clip.

If you have an aftermarket rollcage with spreaders on top, you can do what I did & mount a 10" wide piece of aluminum across them to serve as a radio mount. It works really well and it only cost a few bucks for the piece of scrap aluminum I used. The cage & the spreaders themselves are covered with pipe insulation for safety.

I could take it off the dash if i wanted and just throw it under the seat and in the consol but I'll probally always leave it on the dash.

I made it quick disco just by adding some connectors to the power and ground wire and sticky velco holding the cb itself down.

Hate to dig up old post but.. once you got your wires out the fire wall where did you run your antenna wire to? i like how you mounted your CB and Speaker to the dash and am planning on doing mine the same way. but i would like to mount my antenna to my passenger side tail light. and have no clue where to run the antenna wire once it is out my fire wall. or if i should just run my power out the fire wall and take the antenna wire out of the cab to the rear.
thanks.

Can't help the last poster, but heres how I mounted my HAM, which may work for CB's with a remote head.

I built mine from a few pieces of metal I got from tractor supply. Total cost $10-$15
