Which sounds better, two 10'' subs or one 12'' in a TJ?
they will be paired up with a nice amp and head unit and clear sounding speakers. I am looking at polk audios because for one thing all 4 of my speakers are polks, i jammed 5x7'' in the dash, and 6.5'' round in the sound bar.
I personally like 10"s. I think compared to the 12" they have a much cleaner, crisper sound. Also with the smaller interior compartment of the jeep I think a 12 may be too much. Personally I would go with a single 10 in a bandpass box. The right sub and amp will give you more than you need.

That was the point I was making, I have a Alpine type s ( i think ) 10" sub in a bandpass and personally I think it sounds great. I guess its all what you are into. For some a single 10", for others 2 - 12"s. Its what you want really, just like paint and aftermarket products.
the band pass does nothing to enhance your sub woofer in any way. either you go with a sealed or ported enclosure, mostly depending on what you listen to. for rock you want a sealed enclosure, but with a sealed enclosure it takes more power to get the DB's up. a ported enclosure is more for rap and what not giving better, deeper, boomier bass.
Dear Algebra, Please stop asking us to find your X. She's never coming back and don't ask Y.
personal choice is obviously going to drive your final decision, but you may want to consider the amount of available space to install your 2x10" subs or 1x12". when i was contemplating the same question (single vs dual sub, sealed vs ported, 10's or 12's) i found that i just wasn't interested in building my own box or paying too much for "custom" enclosure. because of this your decision may need to be based on available aftermarket enclosures and what will reasonably fit the area behind the back seat (unless your willing to dump it and build a box for 4x15"s which some do.
i did eventually move from single 10" sealed enclosure to 2x10" sealed jeep jammer probox (which i came across on Craigslist for under $100). this arrangement as well as being able to wire my amp at 2 ohms and get full power from the amp made a world of difference!
