Why don't all the quality replacement tops come in Spice? All I see are Black.

Hey,

It's been about a month now with your new top. Do you still like it? Any problems?

Hey Quadratec

Hey TxkTJ, just wondering if you got it yet? I am hoping to order next week sometime. I am pretty sure my wife is getting me gift certificate to Qaudratec for my birthday.

It was on the porch when I got home last night at 6:20p.m. I changed clothes fed the dog and still had the old top off and the new top on by 7:50p.m. It went on very easily and appears to fit very well. The directions are very clear and easy to follow and there are pictures for reference. The zippers worked so well and easily I had to look and make sure everything was on track when I put the first window on. I definately want a bottle of whater it is they use to lube the zippers. Bottom line is installation was a breeze.
You can definately tell the difference in the fabric and the windows. I drove it to work this morning 80 mph on the interstate and there is no top buffetting like there is with the Bestop replace-a-top I have on our 2000. The windows are definately less flexible as well. It also seems to be a good bit quieter when driving but I would like to reserve that for after a couple trips.
I haven't had it long enough to give it a true evaluation but so far so good. I have only driven it the 20 miles to work today so I would like to have a few more miles and report back. It was also near dark when I finished the install. Plus I would like to drive our other TJ with the Bestop for a fair comparison. I will report back after I have had a little more time to compare. Give me a couple days.

Hey all,

The Premium Sailcloth Quadratop tops are only available in black. The JK Quadratops (Premium Sailcloth and regular) are only available in black. I am not aware of any plans for other color offerings at this time for JK's. I'd recommend a Bestop top at that point.

The non-Sailcloth are available in other colors for YJ/TJ applications.

Thanks and have a great night!

I've had mine on for a few days and have driven both TJs. The 99 model has the Quadratec premium sail cloth top and our 2000 has the Bestop replace a top. The 99 has full doors the 2000 half doors so of course there is going to be a difference from that difference alone.
After comparing the two all I can say about the Quadratec top is wow. There is no comparison between the two. I've had the Bestop on the 2000 for about a year and a half so it is still pretty new as it stays in my shop most of the time. There is a huge difference between the window material in the tops. My replace a top windows have been wavy and convoluted since I put the top on. The windows on the premium top are as flat/smooth as glass. You can tell the windows on the premium top are made of a heavier material than the other just by looking at them.
There is also a remarkable difference between the tops at highway speed. The replace a top has always had a pretty good amount of noise from buffetting at higher speeds. I would say the premium top has very little or none and it is very pronounced on the Bestop.
The fit on both tops is about perfect and both went on easily.
I have to admit I was looking for something to pick on the Quadratec top but I honestly can't find anything as of now.
If you need a new top I highly recommend the Quadratec premium top and would buy another today if I were in the market.

Thanks for the Review TXkTJ. I am going to order mine this coming week. I put my old one down today and I am not sure that it will go back up. I don't hink the back window will go back in.

Thanks for the reviews guys! TxkTJ, comparing directly to a replace-a-top is exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll be pulling the trigger on this in the next week or two and these reviews really helped!

wesmac68, I think I'm about to have the same problem as you. After a great deal of tugging and cursing, I managed to get the old factory soft top back on (I use a hard top in winter) but I dont think the rear window zippers will survive the top up/top down process again.

I got my new Quadratop Premium on the jeep, well all but the door skins. The new top went on so easy and the holes lines up exact. So far everything fits perfect. I had some rust on door frames after i took old skin off, so I want to do some work on those before putting new skins on. I did attempt to put one on just to see and I can tell this is going to be the hardest part. I decided I would wait until I clean the current frames up to do it. So I have not ridden with new top yet, but I will let you all know after everything is in place and we test drive.
