'98 buildup

K so I am going to be slowly building up my TJ. I have a 98 with a 2.5 bone stock. I am in the planning phase of what i am going to do to it so I am soliciting ideas from my fellow Arizona Jeepers. I know the 2.5 is under powered compared to the 4.0 but my 120hp versus the 4.0 having 160hp isnt really that bad. I want to keep the 2.5 for now because it is economical on fuel as a daily driver but i want to beef it up just a little. Ideas for the engine to gain power and not sacrifice too much fuel economy is my first step. Right now, i am getting about 18.2mpg. Ideas? After engine is hooked up alittle, ill start going through the suspension. Thx

The 4 cyl engine is a great engine for trails and wheeling, the only time you are really under poweredis on the freeways. With that said good luck and have fun.

I can make 70mph top speed on the freeway. Is antone familiar with the throttle body spacers? I got the poweraid off of ebay, i want to put an intake on and probably hi flow exhaust from the cat back. Any other ideas?

Added the throttle body spacer and did a tune up to te engine today. Not a big performance gain but very noticeable. Does anyone know of an easy to install aftermarket cruise control? Bought my lift. I got a 2" teraflex BB. Will install soon.
