My First Off Road Drive

I broke in my new Moab today, really my first ever 'more than fire road' off road driving.

I went to Sedona and found the Broken Arrow trail, got to the first slick rock climb, parked and waited for a Pink Jeep to come through. I watched the line they took, then put mine in 4low and drove right up (slowly).

I made it out to Chicken Point and took some photos. Then back to town and on to Schnebly Hill Rd. up to I17.

Fun day and pretty easy slow driving. My AEV lift/suspension developed a 'clank' noise in the front left when the Jeep rocks from side to side going over bumps and rocks. Can't find anything loose yet.

I love Sedona, just did Broken Arrow and Soldiers Pass last Friday. It was my 2nd time on Broken Arrow and the stairs were not enjoyable, scraped a lot more this time then the first.

Nice pictures. I wouldn't worry too much about the clanking while off-road (unless you took a hard hit). It comes with the territory.

Nice pictures. I haven't made it up to Sedona with my Jeep yet but hope to soon.

Did you get the lift installed at Total Auto Pros?

Yes I did.

I did not do the loop to the steps. Is the 2.5" lift enough for that section?

Thanks all on the photos - another hobby I'm working on.

Sedona is very fun. I've gone up there 3 or 4 times.. really the only place I've offroaded, so I don't know how it compares, but it's fun when family visits, and it's always a laugh going down devil's staircase, this past time I kind of just coasted down it, not really braking, what a kick the way it bounces you around

Well the lift size wont help your clearance, I would think with 35s you would be totally fine. I've done it completely stock twice.

How was Total Auto Pros? I'm looking for a shop to do my lift install and will be emailing them on Monday for a quote.

They were great, went out of their way to pick up my rig from the dealer and get the install done in one day. Call Seth, he has been really good to work with, good follow up. Tell him Mark from Flagstaff sent you.

I took my RL on 33" Duratracs with no lift down Broken Arrow no problem just a few weeks ago. Just take it nice and slow. Great looking Jeep!

Sedona has beautiful trails, and yeah the pink jeeps are plentiful there, sort of like ants in a trail
