I'm over in Sedona. I try to get out once a week and hit a decent trail. I'm running nearly stock(no lift, 235/75r15 bfg's) so "decent" may be subjective. She's conquered Broken Arrow a couple times now with just a couple skid plate scrapes going down the staircase. My new regular quick trail is Soldiers Pass, also right here in town, only takes 35-45mins depending on how many pictures you stop and take. LittleBurro is just down the way a bit in Prescott, and I know there a few more of us up here in NAZ, just not too many of us speak up. I took a look at your website, great stuff! I am an amateur photographer myself as per why i moved to Sedona! If you're in the area, give me a shout, it would be great to see another YJ on the trails! What do you shoot? If you have any used/old nikon equipment and/or studio flashes that you're looking to get rid of, let me know!
Sweet Sedona!!! Sedona is part of the reason I wanted a Jeep, I shoot several weddings a year there and always see Wranglers.
How do you like those 235/75/15? I have on 30x somethings right now and not sure I like them. Thinking either getting a second set of rims for some "pavement" rubber or finding one tire to do both. Don't plan on doing too much crazy stuff.
I shoot Canon but have several pro friends who shoot Nikon, I am sure they will have something they are tying to get rid of soon lol. I use speedlights mostly, but will keep an eye out. My thing is Weddings, I can do family and kids but its a wedding that gets me going.. fast paced, no time for errors, shoot raw combat style LOL
I will be shooting in Flag November 5th wedding. Maybe we could meet up grab a bite and talk. I have LOTS of questions as a newbie lol
The tires do me very well. I commute from Cottonwood to Sedona daily(35mile round trip) on the 89a, which isn't the greatest on these treads. They are All Terrain, and speed rated up to 100. No real noticable road noise(thump thump thump) from the tires, however, I highly doubt they are going to last the 40,000 miles the warranty is good for. They are roughly 29", and have gotten me through some tough areas with no problem. As i stated, running near 100% stock, so tough is relative. I am considering a small lift, or possibly some wheel spacers, only because at full lock(left or right), the back inside wall of the tire drags on my springs a bit. I'm not sure about the 5th, but the 6th would be best for me. I am in the process of opening a new restaurant in Sedona(West Side Deli opens Oct 8th!!) and we'll be open mon-sat with myself and the owner, so trail time on Saturday will be tough. I check the forums a couple times a day(typical jeeper lol), so be sure to post in here(the arizona forum) if you make your way over. Any good trails out your way? I've been up the rim to go camping a few times, but that was before I got my Jeep. In flag, I've been itching to check out Cinders, HUGE off road driving park, out near Sunset crater monument.
Your locks work Brian?? Cool My door locks don't work and I haven't even checked the tailgate. Only had the wrangler for a few months so I still have quite a bit to learn about it but I've been on the trails for years in a stock Grand Cherokee.
You and Cronz will have to let me know when you guys meet up, I'd love to come over to Pinetop or Sedona. My brother is in Flagstaff so a run up there would be nice too.
Cronz - Your Grand Opening is the 8th?? Well I'm definitely gonna have to swing through Sedona now.... The Crown King chili cook-off is the 8th and I'm planning on going but hopefully I can make it up your way one of these next couple of weekends.
